Are you finding it difficult to stay inspired with your business? Are the ideas drying up? Is your motivation waning for a creative project? We have four tips for maintaining focus, keeping your energy high and creative juices flowing.
Often talking about your project with friends, partners or family improves your own understanding of where you are and what you are trying to achieve. Talking about your business helps to clarify ideas, find solutions to problems and organises your mind. Often we walk away with new ideas as the conversation sheds light on the next step.
Create a space
Its tempting to rock up to the sofa with the TV on in the background but creating a dedicated work space is crucial to your focus and output. Enter that space focussed on the work at hand and do not let anyone interrupt you while in the flow. No matter how restricted your space, creating an area for your work will unleash inspiration from the moment you sit down.
Return to your work
There is a misconception that ploughing through your tasks is the desired method for getting more done. In truth you can focus on something for so long that you actually become non productive. Take a break, get some fresh air, dance around the room, gain perspective and return to produce a better product.
We all focus to some degree on what we haven’t achieved or got right first time. Take time every day to recognise just how super fabulous and accomplished you are and how much you actually did tick off the list. As a by note try to be realistic with the lists in the first place, but that is a whole other story!
